So far in our journey through Revelation and in particular this section on the 7 Churches, we have encountered both a “Loveless Church“, and a “Suffering Church” each of which, taught us some important lessons i.e., we need to return to our first love (Ephesus), and we must be prepared for the privilege of suffering for the Gospel (Smyrna).
And as we continue on this journey, over the next two weeks we will encounter two churches that both reveal to us aspects of a “Compromising Church” i.e.,
– The compromise we so easily fall into with the world
– And the compromise we so easily allow to invade the church
