Living for Jesus in this day and age is not as easy as we may sometimes think. As the pressure and heat is turned up in the world, representing Him is more important than ever. However, we may struggle with thoughts and false beliefs that we are not qualified or good enough to represent Jesus. We find ourselves believing what the world labels us as and we struggle to know what to identify with and who we really are.
While Paul was a prisoner he encourages Timothy by saying,
7 for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. 8 Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God, 9 who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began, – 2 Timothy 1:7-9 (ESV)
Let us rediscover and be reminded through God’s word who we really are. And how the areas we struggle with are not who we are, but areas we overcome with Jesus living in and through us.
