My beloved speaks and says to me: “Arise, my love, my beautiful one, and come away, for behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land.
Song of Solomon 2:10-12
Yesterday, I was on a video staff-prayer call looking out the window at a tree that was just beginning to sprout leaves. It was a visible reminder of the promise of God’s faithfulness during this very uncertain time in our world. Every year we go through the seasons and experience the new life of spring. As I sat there looking at the tree and listening to our staff pray for y’all, I was reminded of the faithful love of God. Just a week ago that tree looked lifeless, barren; today it is showing signs of new life! In another few days, it will be fully covered with new leaves, new life!
We believe that our church is about to enter a “spring” of new life. The love of Christ our groom will overshadow us and we will hear him say, “Arise, my love, my beautiful one, and come away, for behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone.”
Each of us is experiencing this time of “winter” in different and very real, often painful ways. Be encouraged that God is in control and that “spring” will come! Make sure you include the following in your new daily rhythms of life:
